Welcome to the the surgical practice of Dr. Eric Oristian, M.D.!

We  understand the anxiety that can begin the moment a patient is referred  for possible surgery, and we make it our goal to not only provide the  best medical care possible, but also make the process as stress-free and  comfortable as we can. We believe that by providing our patients and  their families with the most information about their condition and the  available treatment options, we can not only lessen some of the stress,  but also provide personalized care that meets the specific needs of each  individual patient. Our office is dedicated to providing our patients  with the finest surgical care, using the most advanced diagnostic  technology and surgical procedures in a personalized and compassionate  environment. Our goal is to treat each patient as we would want our own  families and loved ones to be treated.

Born  and raised in the Washington, DC area, Dr. Oristian received his  undergraduate degree from Duke University, his doctorate at Georgetown  Medical School, and finished with his residency at George Washington  University. Upon graduating and completing his board certification, he  fulfilled his lifelong dream of joining his father, also a general  surgeon, in private practice. As a result, Dr. Oristian feels a close  bond with the Washington community that he has served since that time.  To this day, Dr. Oristian continues to care for patients – and their  children and grandchildren!- who were treated by his father before him.

In  the scope of his practice, Dr. Oristian has had the privilege of  treating patients with a wide range of medical needs including thyroid  and parathyroid disorders, gallbladder disease, colon and abdominal  abnormalities, hernias, and breast diseases. He has had the unique honor  of being named the Director of the Breast Center at Holy Cross  Hospital. In that capacity, he has led the quest to provide the most  comprehensive, state of the art breast care and to become the only  hospital in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties to receive  accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast  Centers.

Dr.  Oristian maintains an active role in the medical professional  community, serving as a clinical professor of surgery at the George  Washington University School of Medicine and a guest lecturer at many  community outreach programs. He has also had the honor of being  recognized by his peers in Washingtonian Magazine’s “Top Docs”, as well  as by his patients in Consumer Reports. Dr. Oristian maintains  membership in multiple medical professional organizations including:

Maryland Medical and Chirurgical Society, American Medical Association, American Society of Breast Surgeons
